  • Reininghaus – Quartier 3, Graz

    2-stage, Austria’s open competition
    Shortlisted 2nd stage
    Graz, Austria
    2015

Five solitary atrium high-rise buildings are a sign of the new urbanity of the Reininghaus district. Arcades are following the promenades over their entire length. They symbolize urban flair and are limiting but permeable thresholds to the neighborhood.

Inside the complex, the one-storey, flexibly usable base forms four plazas connected to each other by a network of pedestrian and bicycle paths.

Additional green spaces near the residential area are situated on the deck above the commercial zone, a secondary road network connects the offices, commercial enterprises and service providers located in the 1st floor.

Q3 is for young people, intergenerational, socially mixed, neighborly, open, child-friendly, spacious and at the same time small-scale, diverse; It promotes the colorful juxtaposition of the differences.

Gross floor area old/new: 57.685 m²
    60% residential
40% trade, commerce, services, offices, catering, etc.
